We know that trail running offers this; exercise, fresh air, beautiful scenery and great people. But there are some trail run events that deliver even more… these are the “bucket list” runs and the Kruger2Canyon Challenge is right up there!
Kruger2Canyon Challenge, one of KZNTR’s “Big 6”, is held from 13th to 15th July 2019. A 2 day stage trail run based just outside Kampersrus in Limpopo, it delivers the best of both the bushveld and the ‘Berg (this is the most northern section of the Drakensberg). Runners will be privy to some of the most spectacular scenery that South Africa has to offer, including being routed through a game reserve home to 4 of the Big 5.
The new venue for 2018, Franklyn Park, is an exciting new change but won’t mean any major route changes. Franklyn Park is beautifully positioned at the base of Mariepskop with great access to the mountains and the bushveld. The camping ground is set under shady trees on lush green lawns, an idyllic place to rest up after each stage. With the option of either Ultra or Marathon distances to tackle and many different entry options K2C is a race which is accessible to not only the elite amongst us.
